Maria Camila Alfaro

is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the University of Tolima at Ibague, Colombia (2018). She worked as a technician in quality control for an integrated hatchery in her home country. She gained further experience as a professional in diet formulation and nutrition in a large commercial feed company and as a technical representative for a swine and poultry feed additive corporation.

At present, she is pursuing her master’s degree in poultry science in the Prestage Department of Poultry Science from NC State University. Camila focuses on nutrition, statistical analysis, and machine learning techniques for broiler breeders and incubation under the direction of Dr. Edgar Oviedo.

She is specializing in the use and application of data analytics through JMP and SAS to solve problems in the poultry industry.
